Open 7 days until 9pmOnce you have found a suitable property to rent through Blackshaws, the rental process begins. We have devised this simple step by step guide to help you through the process
ON APPLICATION
Step 1 Pay holding deposit to secure the property
Step 2 Complete and return Reference documents (this is usually done via email)
Step 3 Supply valid ID. We require photographic ID and proof of address
Step 4 Inform referees that they will be contacted within 48hrs
Step 5 Read guidance notes supplied
BEFORE MOVE-IN
Step 6 Blackshaws confirm that the referencing was successful
Step 7 Agree and Confirm move-in date
Step 8 Arrange removal company
Step 9 Arrange contents insurance (we can arrange this for you)
Step 10 Notify Council Tax, BT, utility suppliers, TV licensing and mail redirection that you are moving
Step 11 Book appointment to sign the tenancy agreement, pay first month's rent and deposit Monies
Step 12 Sign tenancy agreement and deposit documents. You will be required to initial each page of the tenancy agreement and sign where indicated.
ON THE DAY
Step 13 First month rent and deposit must be received by us in cleared funds
Step 14 Provide proof of contents insurance
Step 15 Collect Keys for the property
Step 16 Collect and Watch DVD inventory of the property.
Step 17 Notify BT / TV licensing and of new address (we will notify Gas / Electric / Water and Council)
